You'll need to turn off onto a smaller trail that leads to the parking area for the Gollum Trail, which is indicated by a 'Hiking Area' sign. The parking area is located at approximately the coordinates HCJP+226, Chamarel.

For those traveling by public transportation, you can take a bus from the main bus terminal in Port Louis to Chamarel. The bus ride will take about 1 to 1.5 hours. Once you arrive in Chamarel, you will need to arrange for a taxi or local shuttle service to take you to the Gollum Trail entrance, as public transport does not run directly to the trailhead. Make sure to negotiate the fare beforehand; it should cost around 200-300 MUR.

If you are already near the Gollum Trail and wish to walk, follow the signs for the Gollum Trail from the nearest parking area. The trailhead is well-marked, and it takes about 10-15 minutes on foot from the parking area to reach the starting point of the Gollum Trail itself.
