Getting There

• Bus

  From the center of Port Louis, head to the bus station located on Rue Desforges. Look for a bus heading towards Grand Baie; these are typically marked with 'Grand Baie' on the front. The bus fare is very affordable, and the journey will take about 30-40 minutes depending on traffic. Once you arrive at the Grand Baie bus terminal, you'll be just a short walk away from the beach and local attractions.

• Walking

  If you're near the waterfront in Port Louis, you can enjoy a scenic walk towards Grand Baie. Start by heading north towards the Caudan Waterfront, then follow the coastal path that leads through the area of Pointe aux Cannoniers. This walk is approximately 10 km and could take around 2-3 hours, depending on your pace. Make sure to stay hydrated and enjoy the views of the ocean along the way.

• Taxi

  You can easily find a taxi in Port Louis, especially around the bus station or major hotels. Inform the driver that you want to go to Grand Baie. The fare is usually negotiated beforehand; expect to pay around 800-1000 Mauritian Rupees for a direct ride. The journey will take approximately 30 minutes, depending on traffic.

• Bicycle

  If you're feeling adventurous, you can rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Port Louis. Head towards the coastal road that leads to Grand Baie; it's a scenic route with beautiful views of the ocean. The distance is about 10 km, and it should take you around 45 minutes to an hour to reach Grand Baie, depending on your cycling speed and stops along the way.
