Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from the Port Louis Central Market, exit the market and head south on John Kennedy Street. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with the main road, Avenue de la République. Turn right and walk along this road for about 500 meters. You will see Umbrella Square on your left, just before you reach the waterfront.

    Starting from Aapravasi Ghat, head east along the waterfront promenade. Continue walking for about 1 kilometer until you reach the end of the promenade. From there, turn left onto Avenue de la République, and walk straight for about 200 meters. Umbrella Square will be on your right.

    If you are coming from the Caudan Waterfront, exit the shopping complex and walk towards the main road. Cross the street to Avenue de la République and head north. Continue straight for about 600 meters, and you will find Umbrella Square on your left, just before reaching the harbor.

    From the Champ de Mars horse racing track, exit and head west towards Rue de la Reine. Continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with Avenue de la République. Turn left and walk for about 300 meters, and you will see Umbrella Square on your right.
