Start at the central square of Koungou, known for its local shops and cafes. Head northeast on Rue de l'Indépendance toward Rue du 11 Novembre. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Avenue du Général de Gaulle. Turn left onto Avenue du Général de Gaulle and walk for about 1 kilometer until you arrive at the intersection with Route de Kaweni. Here, you can ask locals for directions to Pointe Mahabou, which is approximately 3 kilometers further. Follow Route de Kaweni, which will lead you directly to Mamoudzou. Once in Mamoudzou, continue to follow the signs to Pointe Mahabou. The final leg will take you towards the coastline where you will find the hiking area.
