Getting There

Walking
Start your journey at the Mamoudzou market, which is centrally located and a good landmark. From the market, head southwest along the Avenue de la République for about 1 kilometer until you reach the intersection with Rue du Général de Gaulle. Turn left onto Rue du Général de Gaulle and continue walking for approximately 700 meters. You'll pass local shops and cafes, giving you a taste of Mamoudzou's vibrant atmosphere. At the end of Rue du Général de Gaulle, turn right onto Rue de la Liberté and walk straight until you reach the waterfront. Once you arrive at the waterfront, follow the path along the coast. Pointe Mahabou is located about 1.5 kilometers further along this path, where you will enjoy scenic views of the ocean and surrounding hills.

From the central bus station in Mamoudzou, take the bus heading towards Kaweni. Make sure to confirm with the bus driver or conductor that they will stop near Pointe Mahabou. After approximately 15-20 minutes, get off at the stop closest to the Kaweni area. From here, you can either walk the remaining distance, which is about 1 kilometer, or ask locals for the best walking route to Pointe Mahabou, as they are usually very helpful.
