Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving a car, start from the main town of Mamoudzou. Head north on Route Nationale 1 (RN1) towards Ouangani. Continue for about 15 km until you reach Ouangani. Once in Ouangani, follow the signs towards the Cascade d'Hapandzo. The exact location is at 547H+XRG, which is just off the main road in a forested area. There are small signs leading to the waterfall. Make sure to park your car at the designated area, as the road can be narrow.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, take a bus from Mamoudzou to Ouangani. Buses run frequently throughout the day, and the fare is approximately €2. Once you arrive in Ouangani, you can either walk to Cascade d'Hapandzo (about a 30-minute walk) or hire a local taxi for about €5 to take you closer to the waterfall. Make sure to confirm with the driver that they know the location of Cascade d'Hapandzo, as not all may be familiar with it.

• Walking

  If you are already in Ouangani, you can reach Cascade d'Hapandzo on foot. From the center of Ouangani, head towards the main road and look for signs directing you to the waterfall. The walk is approximately 3 km and takes about 30-40 minutes. The path may be uneven, so wear comfortable shoes and be prepared for some light trekking.

• Local Taxi

  If you prefer a more direct route, you can hire a local taxi from anywhere in Mayotte. The cost will vary depending on your starting point, but expect to pay around €15-€30 for a ride to Cascade d'Hapandzo from Mamoudzou. Make sure to negotiate the fare beforehand and confirm that the driver is familiar with the location.
