Car
If you are driving from La Paz, head north on Highway 1 for approximately 280 kilometers (about 4 hours). Once you reach the town of Guerrero Negro, take the exit towards Highway 1D, which leads to the San Ignacio Lagoon. Follow the signs for San Ignacio, and after about 50 kilometers, you will arrive at the lagoon. Ensure to fill up your gas tank in Guerrero Negro as there are limited services along the route.
Public Transportation
From La Paz, you can take a bus to Guerrero Negro. Once you arrive in Guerrero Negro, you will need to find local transportation options like taxis or colectivos (shared vans) to reach San Ignacio Lagoon, which is about a 50-kilometer (30-mile) journey. The bus ride from La Paz to Guerrero Negro takes around 5-6 hours and costs approximately 400-600 MXN. The taxi or colectivo from Guerrero Negro to the lagoon may cost around 500-800 MXN.
