Getting there

Bus

If you are in the Hotel Zone, you can take any bus that is heading towards the Zona Hotelera. Look for a bus with 'Hotel Zone' or 'Kukulcan' prominently displayed on the front. The fare is usually around 12 pesos. Ask the driver to let you know when you reach Blvd. Kukulcan 5. The bus will drop you off near Playa Ballenas, which is a public beach. From the bus stop, walk down towards the beach access, and you will see Playa Ballenas directly.

Walking

If you are already in the vicinity of Playa Ballenas, you can walk there easily. Find your way towards Blvd. Kukulcan. Head towards the closest intersection and walk along the boulevard. Keep an eye out for signs or locals indicating the beach. It’s a beautiful walk, and once you reach Blvd. Kukulcan 5, you will find the entrance to Playa Ballenas beach.

Taxi

You can also take a taxi to Playa Ballenas. Simply tell the driver 'Playa Ballenas' or 'Blvd. Kukulcan 5, Zona Hotelera'. The taxi fare will vary depending on your starting point but expect it to be around 100-200 pesos. The driver will drop you off directly at the entrance of the beach.

Bicycle

If you are feeling adventurous, you can rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops in the Hotel Zone. Head towards Blvd. Kukulcan and follow the bike paths. It’s a straight route, and once you reach Blvd. Kukulcan 5, you can lock your bike and walk to the beach access. Enjoy the ride and the beautiful scenery along the way!
