Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car from towns in Central Mexico, such as Querétaro or Puebla, take the major highways. From Querétaro, take the Querétaro-Mexico City Highway (Mexico 57) which connects directly to Mexico City. The drive typically takes around 2-3 hours depending on traffic. Once you reach Mexico City, follow signs to the city center (Zona Centro). Be prepared to pay tolls (approximately 200-300 MXN) on this route. Upon entering the city, use GPS to navigate to La Merced, Zona Centro, which is your destination.

• Bus

  For those using public transportation, taking a bus is a convenient option. Major bus terminals in Central Mexico, like Querétaro's Terminal de Autobuses or Puebla's Estrella de Oro, have direct services to Mexico City's Terminal de Autobuses de Pasajeros de Pasajeros de Pasajeros (TAPO). The bus ride costs between 250-400 MXN and takes about 2-4 hours. Upon arrival at TAPO, you can take a taxi or an Uber to La Merced, which will cost around 100-150 MXN and take approximately 30 minutes, depending on traffic.

• Train

  Although there are limited train services in Mexico, travelers can utilize the train from Querétaro to Mexico City through the 'FerroMex' service. Once you arrive at the Mexico City train station, you will need to take a taxi or use public transport (Metro) to reach La Merced. The taxi will cost you about 100-150 MXN, while the Metro is a much cheaper option at around 10 MXN but may take longer due to multiple transfers.

• Metro

  If you find yourself in the vicinity of Mexico City already, the Metro is an efficient way to navigate the city. The closest Metro station to La Merced is 'Candelaria' on Line 1 (Pink Line) or 'Merced' on Line 1 (Pink Line). A ticket costs 5 MXN. Once you exit the Metro station, follow the signs to La Merced Market, which is a short walk away and will lead you directly to your destination in Zona Centro.
