Bus
For those preferring public transport, you can take a bus from Mexico City to Zacatecas. Head to the Terminal de Autobuses de Pasajeros de Pasajeros de Observatorio (Observatorio Bus Terminal) and look for buses heading to Zacatecas. The journey takes around 10-12 hours, and tickets cost approximately 600-1000 MXN depending on the bus service. Once in Zacatecas, you can rent a car or take a local taxi to the Mexican Plateau, which is about 30 minutes away.
