Bus
To reach Mirador Cañón del Sumidero from the center of Tuxtla Gutiérrez, head to the main bus terminal (Terminal de Autobuses ADO) located at Av. 5 de Febrero. Look for the buses heading towards the Cañon del Sumidero. Purchase your ticket from the counter or the bus driver. The journey will take approximately 30 to 45 minutes. Once you arrive at the park entrance, you can either walk approximately 10 minutes to the mirador or take a local taxi for a short ride.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, you can take a taxi from anywhere in Tuxtla Gutiérrez to Mirador Cañón del Sumidero. Just tell the driver 'Mirador Cañón del Sumidero' and they will know the destination. The ride will typically take around 30 minutes depending on traffic. Make sure to confirm the fare before starting the ride or ask them to use the meter.
Walking
If you are staying in a hotel near the city center of Tuxtla Gutiérrez, consider walking to the Mirador Cañón del Sumidero. Start from Parque de la Marimba, head north on Avenida 1a Norte, then turn left onto Avenida 5 de Febrero. Continue straight until you reach the Cañon del Sumidero entrance. Note that this walk is approximately 5 to 6 kilometers and may take about 1 to 1.5 hours, so wear comfortable shoes and bring water.
