Bus
From San Cristóbal de las Casas, take a bus from the main bus terminal (Terminal de Autobuses ADO) to Palenque. Buses depart frequently, and the journey takes about 5 hours. Once you arrive at the Palenque bus station, you can take a local taxi or a colectivo (shared taxi) to Zona Arqueológica Palenque. The taxi ride will take approximately 15 minutes.
Bus
If you are in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, head to the ADO bus terminal and catch a bus to Palenque. The bus ride takes around 4 hours. After arriving at the Palenque bus station, take a taxi or colectivo to the archaeological site, which is roughly a 15-minute drive.
Colectivo
From the town of Palenque, you can take a colectivo directly to the Zona Arqueológica Palenque. Colectivos leave from the central bus station or near the main plaza, and the ride is about 15 minutes. Make sure to confirm that the colectivo is heading to the archaeological site.
Walking
If you are staying in Palenque town and prefer to walk, the Zona Arqueológica is approximately 8 kilometers from the town center. Follow the signs to the archaeological site; it is a scenic walk through the jungle. However, this option is recommended for those in good physical condition and familiar with walking long distances.
