Bus
From Tuxtla Gutierrez, take a local bus from the main terminal (Terminal de Autobuses ADO) to San Cristóbal de las Casas. The journey takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. Once in San Cristóbal, you can catch another bus heading towards Ocosingo. Ask the driver or conductor to let you know when to get off for Piedra Parada. After about 1 hour, you will arrive at a stop near Piedra Parada. From there, you can either walk or hire a local taxi to take you to SIMA DE LAS COTORRAS, which is approximately 10 minutes away.
Collective Taxi
If you are in San Cristóbal de las Casas, head to the collective taxi stand (colectivos) located near the main market (Mercado Municipal). Take a colectivo heading towards Ocosingo and inform the driver you want to stop at Piedra Parada. This ride usually takes about 1 hour. Once you arrive in Piedra Parada, you can walk or take a local taxi to SIMA DE LAS COTORRAS, which is a short distance away.
Walking
If you find yourself in the vicinity of Piedra Parada, you can walk to SIMA DE LAS COTORRAS. Start at the main road in Piedra Parada and head towards Unnamed Road. Follow the signs or ask locals for directions to the Eco Parque, which is a well-known spot in the area. The walk should take approximately 30 to 40 minutes depending on your pace.
