If you are in the center of San Cristobal de las Casas, start by heading towards the main square, Plaza 31 de Marzo. From the square, walk along Avenida 20 de Noviembre until you reach the intersection with Avenida Ignacio Allende. Turn left onto Avenida Ignacio Allende and continue walking. You will eventually reach the outskirts of the city. Keep walking straight until you see signs for 'Río Arcotete,' which is around 8 km from the city center. This walk will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours depending on your pace.

Collective Taxi
From the center of San Cristobal de las Casas, head to the main taxi stand located near Plaza 31 de Marzo. Look for a collective taxi (colectivo) heading to Tenejapa. The fare is usually around 20 to 30 MXN per person. Inform the driver that you want to get off at 'Río Arcotete.' The drive will take approximately 20-30 minutes. Once you arrive, you may need to walk a short distance to reach El Arcotete.

For a more adventurous option, consider renting a bicycle from one of the rental shops in the city center. Once you have your bike, head towards the main square and follow the same route as if you were walking, along Avenida 20 de Noviembre and then Avenida Ignacio Allende.
