Monumento a la Exploración Naval: A Tribute to Maritime Heritage

Getting There

• Walking

  If you are staying in downtown San Miguel de Cozumel, start at the main square (Plaza Central). From the square, head east on Avenida 5 until you reach the intersection with Avenida 10. Turn left (north) onto Avenida 10 and continue walking. You'll pass several shops and eateries. Keep walking straight until you reach the intersection with Calle 11, then turn right onto Calle 11. Continue straight until you reach the waterfront; the Monumento a la exploración naval is located along the coast, just a few blocks ahead on the left side.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer to ride a bicycle, you can rent one from various shops in downtown San Miguel de Cozumel. Start from the main square and head east on Avenida 5. Once you reach Avenida 10, turn left and cycle north. Follow the same route as the walking directions, but be cautious of pedestrian traffic as you approach the waterfront. The monument will be on your left as you approach the coast.

• Public Transport (Collectivo)

  Catch a collectivo (shared taxi) from the main square or any major street. Look for a collectivo heading towards the waterfront. Tell the driver you want to go to 'Monumento a la exploración naval' or simply say 'Maravilla'. The ride should take about 10 minutes. Once you arrive, you can easily spot the monument along the coast.

• Taxi

  If you prefer a quicker option, you can take a taxi from anywhere in Cozumel. Simply tell the driver to take you to 'Monumento a la exploración naval' in Maravilla. Most drivers will know this landmark, and the ride will take approximately 5-10 minutes depending on your starting point.
