From Playa del Carmen, Puerto Aventuras is reached by road, with local colectivos and taxis serving the wider highway corridor, although the most convenient stop and final access depend on the accommodation. Travellers starting in Cozumel must first take the passenger ferry to Playa del Carmen, then continue south by road; allow time for the ferry, luggage and onward connection.
Getting Around

Maya Coast Before the Resort

The coast around present-day Puerto Aventuras formed part of the wider Maya landscape of eastern Yucatán, where coastal settlements, fishing grounds, forests and freshwater sources were connected by sea and land routes.
