Bus
From Mexico City, head to Terminal de Autobuses de Pasajeros de Pasajeros de Observatorio (the Observatorio Bus Terminal). You can take the Metro Line 7 (Orange Line) from any central location to the Tacubaya station and transfer to Line 7. Once at the terminal, buy a ticket to Teotihuacán. Buses run frequently throughout the day, and the journey will take about 1-1.5 hours. Upon arrival in Teotihuacán, you will need to walk about 15 minutes to reach the entrance of the archaeological site and the Pirámide del Sol.
Metro and Bus
Take the Metro Line 5 (Yellow Line) to Pantitlán. From Pantitlán, transfer to Metro Line 1 (Pink Line) towards Indios Verdes and get off at Balbuena station. From Balbuena, exit the station and look for the bus stop for buses heading to Teotihuacán. Purchase a ticket from the bus driver, and enjoy the scenic ride, which will take approximately 1-1.5 hours. Once you arrive, you will need to walk about 15 minutes to the entrance of the site.
Shared Van (Colectivo)
Head to the Terminal de Autobuses de Pasajeros del Norte (North Bus Terminal). You can take the Metro Line 5 (Yellow Line) to Pantitlán, then transfer to Line 1 (Pink Line) and get off at Balbuena. From there, take a taxi or walk to the North Bus Terminal. At the terminal, look for shared vans (colectivos) heading to Teotihuacán. The journey will take about 1 hour, and you'll be dropped off near the entrance to the site.
