Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car within Mulegé, start from the center of the town. Drive east on Highway 1 (Carretera Transpeninsular) until you reach the junction with the road to the lighthouse, which is approximately 5 km away. Turn left onto the dirt road that leads to the Mulegé Lighthouse. The road may be rough, so drive slowly and carefully. After about 2 km, you'll see the lighthouse ahead, which is situated on a small hill. There is usually ample parking available for visitors.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, you can take a local taxi or a shared van (known as a 'colectivo') from the center of Mulegé. Ask the driver to take you to 'El Faro' (the lighthouse). The fare should be around 30-50 pesos depending on the distance and the number of passengers. The ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes. Once you arrive, follow the signs that direct you to the lighthouse, which is a short walk from where the vehicle drops you off.

• Walking

  If you are feeling adventurous and are staying close to the lighthouse area, you can hike from Mulegé town to the lighthouse. Head east from the town center towards the highway, then follow the dirt road heading towards the lighthouse. The distance is about 5 km one way, so be prepared for a 1-1.5 hour walk. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water, as there are limited facilities along the way.
