Getting There

Walking
If you are in the central area of Oaxaca, start at the Zócalo (main square). From the Zócalo, head southwest on Calle de Morelos towards Calle de Alcalá. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Calle de Macedonio Alcala. Turn left onto Calle de Macedonio Alcala, and walk straight for about 5 minutes. You will pass several shops and cafes. The Museum of Cultures of Oaxaca will be on your left at 1a. Cerrada de Macedonio Alcala.

Public Transportation
From the Zócalo, you can take a local bus or colectivo (shared taxi) towards Santo Domingo. Look for buses or colectivos that have 'Santo Domingo' displayed. The ride should take about 10-15 minutes. Ask the driver to let you off at the nearest stop to the Museum of Cultures of Oaxaca. Once you get off, walk a short distance to 1a. Cerrada de Macedonio Alcala.

Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in the city center. From the Zócalo, head southwest on Calle de Morelos, then turn left onto Calle de Macedonio Alcala. The museum is about a 10-minute bike ride from the Zócalo. Make sure to follow the bike lanes where available, and park your bicycle at the designated area outside the museum.
