If you are in the center of Oaxaca, head towards the main square, Zócalo. From there, walk southwest on Calle de Manuel García Vigil until you reach the intersection with Calle de Macedonio Alcalá. Turn left onto Calle de Macedonio Alcalá and continue walking until you reach Cerrada de Macedonio Alcala. The Museum of Cultures of Oaxaca will be on your right at 1a. Cerrada de Macedonio Alcala.

From the Zócalo, you can take a local bus (known as 'colectivo') heading towards the Centro Histórico. Get off at the stop closest to the intersection of Calle de Macedonio Alcalá. Walk a short distance southwest on Calle de Macedonio Alcalá until you reach Cerrada de Macedonio Alcala, where the museum is located on your right.

You can take a taxi from anywhere in Oaxaca. Simply tell the driver to take you to 'Museo de Culturas de Oaxaca en Cerrada de Macedonio Alcala'. Most taxi drivers will know this location. The taxi will drop you off right in front of the museum.
