To reach Popocatépetl from central Puebla, head to the Estrella Roja bus terminal located at Avenida 16 de Septiembre 2301. There, purchase a ticket for a bus heading to the town of Amecameca. The journey takes about 1.5 hours. Once you arrive in Amecameca, you can take a local taxi or a colectivo (shared taxi) to the base of Popocatépetl, which is approximately 30 minutes away.
