Walking
If you are staying in the central area of Puerto Escondido, begin your journey by walking towards the main street, Avenida Manuel Ruiz. Head south along this road until you reach the intersection with Calle 2000. Turn left onto Calle 2000 and continue walking for approximately 10-15 minutes. As you walk, you will pass various shops and eateries, which can be a good opportunity to grab a snack for your beach day. Keep an eye out for the signs pointing toward Playa Zicatela.

Public Transport (Collectivo)
From the central area, head to the nearest collectivo station, which is usually located near the main plaza or along Avenida Manuel Ruiz. Look for collectivos heading to 'Zicatela' or 'Puerto Zicatela'. Once you board the collectivo, the ride to Playa Zicatela will take about 10 minutes. Be sure to tell the driver your destination. Once you arrive, simply get off at the designated stop for Playa Zicatela, which is usually marked and very close to the beach.

Bicycle Rental
If you prefer a more active approach, consider renting a bicycle from one of the many rental shops in the central area of Puerto Escondido. Once you have your bike, head south on Avenida Manuel Ruiz, and then turn left onto Calle 2000. Continue straight until you reach Playa Zicatela. The ride should take around 15-20 minutes, and you can enjoy the scenic views along the way. There are bike racks available near the beach for you to secure your bicycle while you enjoy your time at the beach.
