Public Transportation
From Downtown Tijuana, head to the Tijuana Central Bus Station (Estación de Autobuses de Tijuana). You can take a taxi or walk for about 20 minutes (1.5 km). Once at the bus station, purchase a ticket for the San Ysidro border crossing. After crossing into the United States, follow the signs to the San Diego Trolley (Blue Line) station. Board the trolley heading towards the 'Old Town' station. Get off at the 'America Plaza' station. From there, transfer to a bus (Route 30) that goes towards La Jolla. The bus will take you to the La Jolla Cove area. Get off at the stop closest to '1100 Coast Blvd'. The Lifeguard La Jolla Cove will be a short walk from the bus stop.
Taxi or Ride-Sharing
If you prefer a more direct route, you can use a taxi or a ride-sharing service like Uber from your location in Tijuana. Simply input '1100 Coast Blvd, La Jolla, CA 92037' as your destination. The driver will take you across the border to La Jolla. The journey may take around 30-40 minutes depending on traffic and border wait times.
Walking
If you are close to the border, you can walk across the border into the United States. Once in San Ysidro, head to the San Diego Trolley station. From there, take the Blue Line trolley towards 'Old Town'. Get off at 'America Plaza' and transfer to the bus (Route 30) that goes to La Jolla. This option is more time-consuming and requires navigating public transit.
