Public Bus

From the center of Tijuana, head to the nearest bus stop. You can catch the Route 5 bus, which goes to the San Ysidro border crossing. Make sure you have small change or a transport card ready. The bus ride takes about 30 minutes. Once you reach the San Ysidro border, get off and follow the signs to the border crossing. After crossing into the United States, continue on foot to the San Diego Trolley station, which is located just a few blocks from the border. From there, you can take the Blue Line Trolley towards 'Old Town' or 'San Ysidro' and get off at 'America Plaza' station for direct access to downtown San Diego.

Walking

If you are already near the San Ysidro border, simply walk across the border to enter the United States. After crossing, you will find yourself in San Diego. From the border, walk straight to find yourself at the San Diego Trolley station. Follow the signs for the trolley and take the Blue Line towards 'Old Town' or 'San Ysidro' to get to downtown San Diego.

Taxi or Rideshare

If you prefer a more direct route, you can take a taxi or use a rideshare app like Uber or Lyft from your current location in Tijuana to the San Ysidro border crossing. The drive takes about 20 minutes. Once you reach the border, follow the pedestrian signs to cross into the United States. After crossing, you can either walk to the San Diego Trolley station or catch a local taxi to your desired destination in San Diego.
