Getting There

  • Public Transport (Trolley)

    From downtown Tijuana, head to the Tijuana Trolley station located at Misión de San Diego street. Take the Blue Line trolley towards San Ysidro. Get off at the San Ysidro border station and walk towards the U.S. Customs and Border Protection area. After crossing the border into San Diego, follow the signs to catch the trolley again at the San Ysidro station, this time taking the Green Line trolley towards Old Town. Get off at the Old Town station. From Old Town, transfer to the Orange Line and take it to the Point Loma station. Once you arrive, walk west towards Shelter Island, which is approximately a 20-minute walk.

  • Bus

    From Tijuana, head to the bus terminal located at the Central de Autobuses. Take a bus to San Diego, which will take you to various stops in San Diego. Ask the driver to drop you off at the Point Loma area or near Shelter Island. Once you get off, you can walk to Shelter Island from there, which is about a 15-minute walk.

  • Walking

    If you are staying near the border, you can walk across the border into San Diego. After clearing customs, you can take a local bus or walk to the nearest trolley station. From there, follow the directions for the trolley or bus mentioned above. If you prefer to walk directly, you can head towards Shelter Island by walking through Point Loma, which will take approximately 1 hour.
