Walking
From the Malecón, head east along the waterfront promenade. Enjoy the ocean view and the vibrant atmosphere. Continue walking for about 15 minutes until you reach the intersection with C. Francisco Canal. Turn left onto C. Francisco Canal and walk for approximately 5 minutes. The Museo Baluarte de Santiago will be on your right. Look for the large fortress structure, which is hard to miss.
Bicycle Rental
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the local rental shops along the Malecón. Follow the same route as walking: cycle east along the promenade for about 15 minutes, then turn left onto C. Francisco Canal and continue for 5 minutes. Keep an eye out for traffic, especially as you approach the museum.
Public Transportation (Bus)
To use public transportation, look for the nearest bus stop along the Malecón. Buses frequently run towards the Centro area. Board a bus heading towards 'Centro' and ask the driver to let you know when you reach C. Francisco Canal. The fare is approximately 10 pesos. Once you disembark, walk down C.
