Walking
From any point along the Malecón, head towards the main road (Avenida Pedro Díaz). If you are near the beach, walk along the Malecón promenade until you reach the intersection with Avenida Pedro Díaz. Turn left onto Avenida Pedro Díaz and continue walking straight for about 10-15 minutes. You will pass several shops and restaurants along the way. Keep an eye out for the large square and the distinct colonial architecture that marks the Zócalo de Veracruz.
Public Transportation (Bus)
If you prefer not to walk, you can take a local bus from one of the bus stops along the Malecón. Look for buses that have 'Centro' or 'Zócalo' written on them. The fare is usually around 10-15 MXN. Board the bus and get off at the stop nearest to the Zócalo, which should take no more than 5 minutes. Once you get off, follow the signs that direct you to 'Zócalo' or ask locals for directions as it is a well-known landmark.
Use Tower Bridge as your starting point for nearby food, family ideas, nightlife, and more local discoveries.
