Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, start on the main highway (Carretera Federal 180) from Merida towards Progreso. After Progreso, continue on the highway until you see the signs for San Crisanto. Turn left onto the road leading into the town of San Crisanto. Follow this road straight until you reach the entrance of Manglar de San Crisanto, which is well marked. There is usually a small parking fee, so be prepared for that.

• Public Transportation (Bus)

  To reach Manglar de San Crisanto using public transportation, take a bus from the main terminal in Merida to Progreso. Buses depart frequently and the journey takes about 30 to 40 minutes. Once you arrive in Progreso, look for a local bus or colectivo heading towards San Crisanto. The colectivo should drop you off near the entrance of Manglar de San Crisanto. Be sure to confirm with the driver that they will take you to your destination.

• Bicycle

  For the more adventurous, you can rent a bicycle in Progreso and ride to San Crisanto. The ride is approximately 15 km and takes you through beautiful coastal scenery. Once you reach San Crisanto, follow the signs to Manglar de San Crisanto. Ensure you have enough water and snacks for the ride, as well as a lock for your bicycle when you arrive.

• Taxi

  If you prefer a more direct route, consider hiring a taxi from Merida or Progreso. Make sure to negotiate the fare before starting your trip. The taxi will take you to the entrance of Manglar de San Crisanto directly, which is convenient but may be more costly than public transportation. Expect to pay a higher rate if you are traveling from Merida.
