From anywhere in the Driftless Area, head towards Two Harbors, Minnesota. If you're coming from the south, take Highway 61 north along the scenic North Shore of Lake Superior. As you approach Two Harbors, look for the intersection with County Road 2. Turn left onto County Road 2 and continue for about 3 miles until you see Twin Points Trail. Turn right onto Twin Points Trail and follow it for approximately 0.5 miles. Iona's Beach will be located on your left at 3532 Twin Points Trail. There is no entry fee to access the beach.
Public Transportation
If you're relying on public transportation, you can take a bus from Duluth to Two Harbors using the Arrowhead Transit service. The closest bus stop to Iona's Beach is in Two Harbors. Once you arrive, you may need to use a rideshare service (like Uber or Lyft) or a taxi to reach Iona's Beach, as it is about 3 miles from the bus stop. Ensure to check the bus schedules in advance as they may vary.
Bicycle
For those who enjoy cycling, you can bike from Two Harbors to Iona's Beach. Start at the Two Harbors city center and head east on Highway 61 for about half a mile until you reach County Road 2. Turn left and continue for approximately 3 miles. After that, turn right onto Twin Points Trail and follow it for 0.5 miles to reach Iona's Beach. Be sure to wear a helmet and follow local traffic laws.
Walking
If you're near Iona's Beach and wish to walk, the area is accessible on foot from nearby trails. Note that the distance from the nearest accommodations in Two Harbors is approximately 3 miles, so be prepared for a walk. Follow the same route as you would if biking, starting from the city center, heading on Highway 61 to County Road 2, then onto Twin Points Trail.
