Car
From any point in the Driftless Area, head towards MN-74. If you are in a nearby city such as Winona, take I-90 E towards Altura. Use exit 250 for MN-74 towards Altura. Continue on MN-74 for about 12 miles until you reach the entrance of Whitewater State Park at 19041 MN-74, Altura, MN 55910. The park entrance will be on your right. There is a vehicle entrance fee of $7 for Minnesota residents and $10 for non-residents.
Public Transportation
Public transportation options in the Driftless Area are limited. However, you can take a Greyhound or a local shuttle service to reach the nearest town, Altura. From Altura, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to reach Whitewater State Park, as there is no public transport directly to the park. It's advisable to book your taxi in advance, as options may be limited. Check the local shuttle or taxi services for costs and availability.
