From any location within Iron Range, head towards Highway 169. If you're in the city of Virginia, take 1st St N and merge onto Highway 169 S. Continue on Highway 169 S for approximately 30 miles. Take the exit for Highway 1 E towards Ely, and continue on Highway 1 for about 22 miles until you reach the intersection with County Road 88. Turn left onto County Road 88 and follow the signs for Bear Head Lake State Park, which will lead you directly to the park entrance at 9301 Bear Head State Park Rd, Ely, MN 55731.
