Car
If you are traveling by car, start by navigating to Eyota, MN. From the center of Eyota, head north on Main Street towards County Road 9. Turn left onto County Road 9 and continue for approximately 2 miles. The Great River Ridge State Trail will be on your right. Look for parking areas along the trail. Note that some areas may require a Minnesota State Parks vehicle permit, which can be purchased for $7 daily or $35 annually at the entrance or online.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a bus to Rochester, MN, which is the nearest major city. From Rochester, you can catch a local shuttle or taxi service to Eyota. Once in Eyota, you can either walk or bike the short distance to County Road 9. If you are biking, be sure to check for local bike rental options in Rochester before heading to Eyota. There may be additional costs for shuttle services; confirm current rates with the transport provider.
Bicycle
If you are already in the vicinity and prefer to cycle, you can bike to the Great River Ridge State Trail by following local roads to County Road 9. Ensure your route is safe for cycling and always wear a helmet. Once you reach County Road 9, you will find access points to the trail. This method is cost-effective, but ensure your bike is in good condition for the journey.
