From Duluth, take I-35 N towards Cloquet. Continue on I-35 N for approximately 20 miles until you reach exit 240 for MN-210 E. Merge onto MN-210 E, which will take you directly towards Carlton. After about 10 miles, you'll see signs for Jay Cooke State Park. Turn left onto Highway 210 E, and follow the signs for the park entrance, located at 780 E Hwy 210, Carlton, MN 55718. Expect a parking fee of $7 for Minnesota residents or $10 for non-residents.

If you're using public transportation, take the Duluth Transit Authority bus to the Duluth Transit Center. From there, you can catch a Greyhound bus to Carlton, MN. Once you arrive in Carlton, you will need to take a taxi or a rideshare service (like Uber or Lyft) to reach Jay Cooke State Park, as public transit does not directly serve the park. Taxi services may vary in cost, so check beforehand. The park entrance is at 780 E Hwy 210, Carlton, MN 55718.
