Light Rail
If you're starting from downtown Saint Paul, head to the Union Depot light rail station located at 240 E Kellogg Blvd, Saint Paul, MN 55101. Take the Blue Line towards the Mall of America. After about 20-25 minutes, you will arrive at the Nicollet Mall station in Minneapolis. From there, transfer to the Green Line light rail towards Target Field. Get off at the 5th Street and Nicollet Avenue stop. From the stop, walk east on 5th Street until you reach the Mississippi River, then follow the river north until you see Nicollet Island.
Bus
From anywhere in Saint Paul, locate a nearby bus stop. You can use the Metro Transit website or app to find the closest stop. Take bus number 94 heading towards Minneapolis. Stay on the bus for approximately 30-40 minutes, depending on traffic. Get off at the stop for 1st Avenue N and 2nd Street N. From there, head east on 1st Avenue N, cross the bridge over the Mississippi River, and follow the signs to Nicollet Island.
Walking
If you're staying in downtown Saint Paul, you can take a scenic walk to Nicollet Island. Start at the Science Museum of Minnesota located at 120 W Kellogg Blvd, Saint Paul, MN 55101. Walk west along Kellogg Blvd towards the river. Once you reach the Mississippi River, follow the riverwalk north until you reach the Stone Arch Bridge. Cross the bridge, and continue walking straight ahead; you will find yourself on Nicollet Island.
Bicycle
If you're comfortable cycling, rent a bike from a local bike share program. Start at any bike share station in Saint Paul and head towards the river. Follow the bike paths along the Mississippi River, heading towards Minneapolis. You'll ride past beautiful parks and river views. Once you reach the Stone Arch Bridge, cross the bridge, and you will enter Nicollet Island, where you can explore the island's natural beauty.
