    From any point in Superior National Forest, locate MN-1 N (also known as the Gunflint Trail). Follow MN-1 N for approximately 35 miles until you reach the intersection with MN-61. Turn left onto MN-61 W. Continue on MN-61 for about 10 miles. You will then see signs for Finland State Forest. Follow the signs to the forest entrance located at Isabella, MN 55607. The GPS coordinates for the forest are approximately 47.5246° N, 91.4077° W.

    Public transportation options are limited in this area. However, you can take a Greyhound bus to the closest town, which is either Ely or Grand Marais.
