If you are driving from the Rainy Lake Visitor Center, head southeast on MN-11 E for about 6 miles. Continue on MN-11 E until you reach the intersection with County Road 23. Turn right onto County Road 23 and follow it for approximately 2 miles. You will see signs for Rainy Lake. Once you reach the shoreline, look for designated parking areas where you can safely park your vehicle.

Public Transportation
To reach Rainy Lake by public transportation, take the local shuttle service from the Rainy Lake Visitor Center. The shuttle runs regularly and will drop you off at the closest access point to Rainy Lake, which is approximately 1 mile from the shoreline. From the drop-off point, you can follow the walking trail directly to the lake. Make sure to check the shuttle schedule in advance to plan your visit.

Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, start at the Rainy Lake Visitor Center and take the paved bike path that runs along MN-11 E. Follow the path east for about 6 miles until you reach County Road 23. Turn right and continue for 2 miles. You will find bike racks near the lake, making it easy to lock up your bike and explore the shoreline on foot.
