LeFleur's Bluff Playground: A 21st-Century Play Space
A state-of-the-art, accessible playground in Jackson's LeFleur's Bluff State Park, offering fun and engaging activities for children of all abilities.
LeFleur's Bluff Playground is a standout attraction within Jackson's LeFleur's Bluff State Park, offering a contemporary and inclusive play experience for children aged 6 months to 12 years. This 30,000-square-foot playground features 80 play activities, with 73 designed to be accessible to children with varying abilities. The playground is thoughtfully divided into age-specific play areas, ensuring that children can engage in activities that are both safe and developmentally appropriate. Among its unique features are the We-Go Swing, which allows accessibility to children with and without wheelchairs, the Wedra, a play structure designed for ages 6-23 months and the first of its kind in the world, and the Hedra® Tower, designed for children ages 5-12. Shade structures cover 75% of the playground, keeping the area below significantly cooler and making it comfortable for year-round outdoor play. The playground is part of the larger LeFleur's Bluff Complex, which includes the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science and the Mississippi Children's Museum, offering a range of recreational and educational activities. Spotter's Adventure Trail connects the playground to the museums.
