    From the Vicksburg National Military Park Visitor Center, walk south on Clay Street towards the park entrance. Once inside, follow the main road (Vicksburg National Military Park Road) for about 1.5 miles. The Alabama Monument will be on your right, near the intersection with Confederate Avenue. There are no additional costs for this final approach.

    Enter Vicksburg National Military Park and head southeast on Confederate Avenue. Continue for about 1 mile until the intersection with Grant Avenue. Turn left onto Grant Avenue and proceed for 0.5 miles. The Alabama Monument will be visible near the intersection of Grant Avenue and South Park Road. There are no parking fees within the park.

The monument was sculpted in 1951 by Steffen Thomas of Stone Mountain, GA, at a cost of $150,000.
