Getting There

• Car

  If you are starting from the main entrance of Big Sugar Creek State Park, head south on Highway 43. Continue for approximately 4 miles until you reach the turnoff for Deep Ford Access. Look for the sign indicating the access point. Turn left onto the gravel road, which will lead you directly to the access area. The drive should take about 10-15 minutes, depending on traffic and road conditions.

• Public Transportation

  Currently, there are limited public transportation options directly to Deep Ford Access. However, you can take a bus or rideshare service from nearby towns like Pineville to the park entrance. From the park entrance, you will need to use a taxi or rideshare service to reach Deep Ford Access, which is approximately 4 miles away. • Walking

  If you are already within Big Sugar Creek State Park and prefer to walk to Deep Ford Access, follow the park trails that lead south towards Highway 43. It is advisable to take a trail map available at the park office to ensure you stay on the designated paths. The walk will take approximately 1 hour, depending on your pace, and will lead you to the gravel road that accesses Deep Ford.
