If you are in downtown Jefferson City, start at the Jefferson City Capitol Building located at 201 W Capitol Ave. Exit the Capitol grounds and head east on W Capitol Ave toward Jefferson St. Turn left onto Jefferson St and continue walking north until you reach E High St. Turn right onto E High St and walk until you reach the intersection with Lafayette St. Turn left onto Lafayette St and walk about 0.5 miles. The Missouri State Penitentiary will be on your left at 115 Lafayette St.

From downtown Jefferson City, locate the nearest bus stop. You can take the Jefferson City Public Transit Bus (Route 1). Board the bus heading towards the Missouri State Penitentiary. The ride should take around 10-15 minutes. Once you arrive at the stop closest to the penitentiary, walk a short distance to the entrance at 115 Lafayette St.
