Kiwanis Bacon Park: A Community Oasis

Kiwanis Bacon Park, a cherished landmark in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, offers a diverse range of activities and natural beauty. The park features several pieces of playground equipment, a walking trail that is part of the Poplar Bluff Greenway and connects to Hendrickson Park, a basketball court, a softball field, and a disc golf course. A large field area is available for various practices like football and soccer.The park was gifted to the Poplar Bluff Kiwanis Club in 1948 by Mrs. Carrie Bacon Turner in honor of her husband, David Bacon, and son, Fay Bacon, who was a charter member of the club. Today, Kiwanis Bacon Park continues to serve as a central hub for community engagement and recreation. Visitors can reserve large pavilions for gatherings by contacting 573-785-3338, while smaller pavilions are available without reservation.
