Getting There

  • Car

    From the Cave Monastery in Old Orhei, exit the monastery area and head southwest on the local roads. Drive towards the main road, which is the M2 highway. Take the M2 highway heading towards Orhei. Continue for approximately 12 kilometers until you reach the sign for Orhei. When you arrive in Orhei, follow the signs to the center. Chateau Vartely is located at Strada Eliberării 170/b, which is easily accessible from the main roads. Parking is available on-site.

    From the Cave Monastery, walk to the nearest bus stop, which is located just outside the main entrance of the monastery. Take a local bus heading towards Orhei. The bus ride will take approximately 20-30 minutes. Upon arriving in Orhei, disembark at the central bus station. From there, you can either walk or take a taxi to Chateau Vartely, which is about 3 kilometers away. If walking, head northeast on Strada Ștefan Cel Mare, then turn right onto Strada Eliberării. Chateau Vartely will be on your right.
