The Eternity Memorial Complex, located on Strada Pantelimon Halippa in Chișinău, Moldova, stands as a solemn and evocative tribute to the nation's heroes. Originally known as the Victory Memorial during the Soviet era, it was inaugurated on May 9, 1975, commemorating the 30th anniversary of the Soviet Union's victory in World War II. The complex is dedicated to the Soviet soldiers who perished in the Second Jassy–Kishinev Offensive and other conflicts. The memorial's design, created by architect A. Minaev and sculptors A. Maiko and I. Poniatowski, features a striking 25-meter high pyramid composed of five stylized black and red granite rifles, symbolizing the five years of the war. Each bayonet is engraved with the years 1941-1945. At the base of the pyramid, an eternal flame burns continuously, honoring the memory of the fallen. Other notable elements include a symbolic belfry, a bronze crown inscribed with "We didn't forget you," and a black cross marking the graves of German soldiers. A monument to the War of Independence of Moldova, the "Grieving Mother," also stands within the complex. The site uses granite from Karelia in Russia. The names of Moldovan soldiers who died during World War II are engraved on a commemorative stone.
