    From Chișinău, take a bus to Soroca from the Gara de Nord (North Bus Station). The fare is approximately 6 MDL. From the Soroca bus station, you can walk to Strada Lumânării, which is about a 25-minute walk, or take a local taxi for around 50-70 MDL.

  • Car

    From Șipot Falls Natural Monument, head southeast towards Soroca. Follow the signs to Soroca, approximately 15 km away. Once in Soroca, follow Strada Lumânării to the Candle of Gratitude. There is no parking fee at the monument.

The Candle of Gratitude (Lumânarea Recunoștinței) is one of Moldova's most significant modern monuments, located on a rock outcropping near the city of Soroca. Inaugurated on March 27, 2004, the monument pays tribute to the anonymous heroes who preserved Moldova's language, culture, and history. The monument also commemorates the destroyed cultural monuments of the past. The concept was envisioned by the renowned Moldovan writer Ion Druță, holding deep respect for Moldovan traditions. The monument itself is a 29.5-meter-high chapel shaped like a candle. Visitors can climb the 600 steps from the river to reach the monument. At night, the candle's light can be seen from the towns of Otaci and Camenca. The site provides panoramic views of Soroca, the Dniester River, and the Ukrainian border. Inside the monument, there is a small chapel. The location is not just a tourist attraction but a cultural landmark that fosters a deeper understanding of Moldova's history.
