The Gateway to Rock, or Porte d'entree au Rocher, is a historical landmark in Monaco-Ville offering panoramic views of the Mediterranean coastline and Monaco. Walking
From Place d'Armes, walk down Rue de la Major towards the waterfront. Once you reach the harbor area, follow the promenade along Quai des États-Unis. Continue walking straight until you reach the roundabout. Take the first exit onto Quai Antoine 1er and continue along this path. You will soon see the entrance to the Gateway to Rock (Rpe de la Major) on your left.
Public Transport
From the Jardin Exotique, take bus line 2 towards 'Monte Carlo' and get off at the 'Monaco - Palais' stop. From there, walk down Rue de la Major to the Gateway to Rock. The bus costs €2 for a single trip.
Taxi
Taxis in Monaco offer flat rates within the city. A taxi ride to the Gateway to Rock from within Monaco costs €18 for an instant order or pick-up, and €28 for a pre-booking. Note that traffic can increase the cost.
