Discover more about New National Museum of Monaco - Villa Paloma

The New National Museum of Monaco (NMNM) extends across two locations: Villa Paloma and Villa Sauber. Villa Paloma, acquired by the Principality in 1995 and opened as an exhibition space in 2010, is set in a pearly-white villa built in 1913 for an American on a hillside near the Jardin Exotique. The villa's architecture retains its early 20th-century charm, featuring stained glass windows by local artist Fassi Cadet, period cornices, columns, and mosaics. The grand staircase connecting the building's four levels highlights the Art Nouveau elements of this authentic décor. Villa Paloma's gardens, designed in an antique style by Octave Godard, a student of Édouard André, offer spectacular views of Monaco. These gardens host various artworks that complement the indoor exhibitions. Inside, the museum showcases temporary exhibitions of contemporary art, decorative arts, and photography. The NMNM is dedicated to exhibiting a wide range of contemporary art and supporting artists from around the world. Past exhibitions have included retrospectives of Erik Bulatov and Yinka Shonibare. At the entrance of Villa Paloma, a mediation space provides digital content and information about "The work of the month". The museum is open daily during exhibition periods, with hours varying slightly depending on the season.
