Gateway to Rock: A Historical Marvel in Monaco

Getting There

• Walking

  If you're already in Monaco Harbor, the easiest way to reach Gateway to Rock is by foot. Start at the main harbor area near the yachts and head towards the Avenue de la Costa. Follow this avenue uphill until you reach the Place du Casino. From there, continue straight onto the Boulevard des Moulins and take the first left onto Rue de la Major. This will lead you directly to the Gateway to Rock, which is situated at Rpe de la Major. The walk should take approximately 15-20 minutes.

• Public Transportation

  If you prefer using public transportation, you can take the bus from the harbor area. Look for Bus Line 1, which operates regularly throughout Monaco. Board the bus at the nearest stop in Monaco Harbor, and stay on for about 5-10 minutes. Get off at the stop named 'Monaco-Ville' which is the closest stop to Gateway to Rock. From there, it’s a short walk of about 5 minutes. Follow the signs to Rpe de la Major, and you will arrive at your destination.

• Taxi

  If you are looking for a more comfortable option, you can take a taxi from anywhere in Monaco Harbor to Gateway to Rock. Taxi stands are available at various locations around the harbor. The ride should take approximately 5 minutes, depending on traffic, and will cost around 10-15 euros. Make sure to inform the driver to take you to 'Rpe de la Major'.

• Car

  If you're driving, head towards Monaco Ville. Enter Monaco from the harbor area and follow the signs for Monaco Ville. You will need to find parking as close as possible to the area. There are parking garages available in the Monaco Ville area, but be aware that parking can be limited and may incur a cost, typically around 2-4 euros per hour. After parking, it’s a short walk to Rpe de la Major where Gateway to Rock is located.
