Born from a wartime friendship between engineer Pierre Maurin and chocolatier François Riquier during World War I, Chocolaterie de Monaco opened its doors in 1920. After Riquier's tragic death, Maurin honored their dream by assembling a team of master chocolatiers. In 1999, Prince Rainier III granted it the prestigious title of Patented Supplier to the Prince's Palace, a distinction it holds to this day.
