Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, start your journey from Ulaanbaatar. Head southwest on the Bypass Road (also known as the Ulaanbaatar Ring Road) towards Bogd Khan Mountain. The drive should take about 30-45 minutes, depending on traffic. Once you reach the entrance to Bogd Khan Mountain National Park, pay the entrance fee (approximately 3,000 MNT per person) to access the park. Continue driving along the main road inside the park until you reach the area known as 'Budda Tsetserleg' (Буда Цэцэрлэг). Look for signs directing you to the Buddha statue, located at approximately latitude 47.88599 and longitude 106.91214. You may need to park your car and walk the last stretch (around 1 km) to the statue.

  For those using public transportation, take a bus or minivan from Ulaanbaatar to the Bogd Khan Mountain area. Head to the bus station (located near the State Department Store) and find a bus that goes towards 'Zaisan' or 'Bogd Khan Mountain'. The fare is typically around 1,000 MNT. When you reach the drop-off point, you may need to hire a local taxi (costing around 5,000-10,000 MNT) or walk approximately 3 km to the Buddha statue. Follow the signs for 'Budda Tsetserleg' through the park's paths, making sure to pay the entrance fee before entering.

  If you prefer a more direct route, you can hire a taxi from Ulaanbaatar. The fare will vary based on negotiation but expect to pay around 15,000-25,000 MNT for a one-way trip to the Buddha statue. The driver should know the location; just mention 'Budda Tsetserleg' to ensure they take you to the right spot. Once at the park entrance, you may need to pay the entrance fee (3,000 MNT per person) before continuing to the statue on foot.
