Getting There

• Car

  To reach Reka Zheltura from any point in the Dzungarian Basin by car, you will need to head north towards the Russian border. Start by driving towards the town of Altai, which serves as a good starting point for navigation. From Altai, take the A-3 highway and continue north. After approximately 150 kilometers, you will reach the border crossing into Russia. Make sure to have your passport and any necessary travel documents ready, as you will need to go through customs. Once you have crossed into Russia, continue driving on the A-340 highway towards Buryatia. Follow the signs towards Ulan-Ude and then take the M-55 highway towards the area of Reka Zheltura. The river is approximately 30 kilometers east of Ulan-Ude. Look out for local signs indicating the river as you approach the area. Ensure your vehicle has enough fuel, as fuel stations may be sparse in remote areas.

  If you prefer to use public transportation, start your journey from the nearest major city in Dzungarian Basin, such as Altai. From Altai, take a bus heading towards Ulan-Ude, Russia. The journey may take around 5-7 hours depending on the bus schedule and border crossing time. Ensure you have your passport and visa (if required) ready for the border crossing. Upon arriving in Ulan-Ude, you will need to take a local bus or taxi to reach Reka Zheltura. Look for buses heading to nearby towns or directly to the river area. The final leg of the journey is a short taxi ride or a local bus ride of about 30 kilometers east of Ulan-Ude to reach Reka Zheltura.
