Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the nearest major city in the Eastern Steppe. Drive towards the town of Tsetserleg, which is located approximately 100 km from Khorgo Mountain. From Tsetserleg, head northwest on the A-1 road, following signs for Khorgo Mountain. The journey should take about 2 to 3 hours. Once you reach the area near Khorgo Mountain, look for signs leading to the Khorgo-Terkhiin Tsagaan Nuur National Park. There may be a small entry fee for the park, typically around 5,000 MNT (Mongolian Tugrik). Continue on the dirt road until you reach the base of the mountain, where you will find parking areas.
Public Transportation
To reach Khorgo Mountain via public transportation, take a bus from Ulaanbaatar to Tsetserleg. Buses leave regularly from the main bus station and the journey takes about 10 to 12 hours, costing approximately 20,000 MNT. Once in Tsetserleg, you can hire a local taxi or find a shared minibus heading towards Khorgo Mountain. This may cost around 5,000 to 10,000 MNT per person. The local transport will drop you off near the entrance of Khorgo-Terkhiin Tsagaan Nuur National Park, where you might need to pay an entry fee of about 5,000 MNT. From there, you can hike to the summit of Khorgo Mountain.
